                                                             BLOG ENTRY #5
I have found the book very interested, knowledgeable and also opened my eyes to know things are not seem the way they are. There are so many things that grabbed my attention but to find out how the fast food restaurants are using the young people is very unfairly. They have paid less and work hard with no benefits. And also using them as a target because the have found out that young people are more attractive and they have no or less responsibilities. And to see there are no efforts made by the government to address the issue it seems unfairly.

Schlosser has talked about " Throughput" (page 67, 2e paragraph) a girl named  " Elisa a sixteen years old girl, bright-eyed and very pretty wore a McDonald uniform ready to go for the day" according to Schlosser that young girl is a hard worker but less payed.  from my personal experience; I have a friend a very young friend she's a McDonald worker, she works from six am in the morning until twelve midnight. Her paycheck is nothing compare to other people. I think that the young people deserve better,  They deserve encouragement while they put themselves in the line to try to have a better lives they should be recompensed for their efforts not for someone to cheat them. schlosser has addressed those issues by talking about the sixteen year old girl. The other issue beside not well paid injuries are so commons, and compensated but for those young people it is a failure if they ever got hurt they have to pay for their medical expensive. Because those industries like Mc Donald,  KFC, Bugger King, don't provide any medical benefits for their employers. Which i have found so rare for a  big industry like Mc Donald claimed to be our trusted friend, and making Billions of a dollar a year.

I think the community has a big role to play in these issues, make their voice heard and encourage our young people to go to school to educate themselves to have a better live and a good pay job. This book opened my eyes about a lot of controversies and gave me a lot of knowledges about what is going on behind the door of the big industries. Not only about the issues of the young people also about their foods and their products, I hope this book could be more reachable for other people to have access to read it and know what is going on.
